SEATTLE – A day after health officials issued warnings about air quality reaching “unhealthy” levels from Canadian wildfire smoke, improving conditions brought the air quality in Seattle back to “good” or “moderate” readings for Seafair weekend.
On Lake Washington Saturday afternoon, thousands of people gathered to watch the hyrdo planes and the Blue Angels.
A Blue Angels pilot said before the performance that the team planned a high show, with some modified maneuvers because of lower visibility.
On the ground, spectators had no complaints about the show.
“You can see it’s still smoky out there, but it’s getting better,” Andy Mattson said.
From her spot on the grass where she watched the hyrdos and the air show, Elizabeth Crone said of the Blues, “I was afraid that we wouldn’t be able to see them very good up higher, but it was great, we still had a great show.”
