BRUNSWICK, Maine — The 2015 Great State of Maine Air Show had a successful weekend, drawing in plenty to watch neck-craning and jaw-dropping stunts in Brunswick.
The F-22 Raptor, called one of the most sophisticated aircraft ever built, was among this year’s top performers. It joined stunt planes, vintage aircraft and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
“Getting to walk through the planes was a blast,” Belinda Jackson said. “I’ve never been inside the 130. It’s beautiful, and to have such a gorgeous day with a beautiful breeze makes it all worthwhile.”
“I’m a big World War II fan, so basically the P-51,” Logan McDonald said, indicating one of his favorites.
Some who worked at vendor and nonprofit booths said the event was worthwhile for them as well.
“The second I asked everybody at my legion to join and come be a volunteer, I had 24 individuals just willing to jump out and help,” said Adela Cifelli, with the American Legion Post 202.
WMTW News 8 was a proud television sponsor of the event.
