GREAT FALLS – The Flight Over the Falls air show went off without a hitch last weekend.
According to 341st Missile Wing Open House Director Major Jeremiah Kirschman, about 35,000 people attended the weekend-long event.
“We have received great compliments from the attendees. They say this open house blew away the 2011 one,” Kirschman said.
Malmstrom Air Force Base and the Montana Air National Guard (MANG) hosted the event together and the amount of resources needed tripled compared to the previous one.
The air show brought in the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, Wings of Blue, and many other aerial acts and static displays from across the country.
“Hopefully the next open house will be at Malmstrom. It may not include the air show or flying portion of the event,” Kirschman said. “However, we are hoping to do an open house at Malmstrom and maybe five years from now get a headliner like the Blue Angels or U.S. Thunderbirds.”
Kirschman added that Malmstrom and the MANG will work together on events in the future.3
