Airfest 2018: What You Need To Know

Airfest 2018 with an aerial demonstration by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13 at MacDill Air Force Base

TAMPA, FL – Airfest 2018 with an aerial demonstration by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13 at MacDill Air Force Base in South Tampa. The Blue Angels will be joined by the F-22 and the A-10 demo team.

Gates open at 8 a.m. and the opening ceremonies start at 11 a.m. Admission and parking are free. The Blue Angels are scheduled to perform at 3 p.m. on both days.

MacDill officials recommend airshow guests bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hearing protection (especially for children), collapsible camping chairs and empty reusable water bottles (free water stations are available after guests get through security). Food, beverages, and souvenirs will be available for purchase at the event.

Pets, umbrellas, drones and excessively large bags are not permitted. Expect airport level security. All vehicles, individuals and bags are subject to search and seizure.

Officials advise that if you can’t take it on an airplane you can’t take into AirFest 2018.

Airfest now has an app with schedules, performers and static aircraft displays. Scan QR code or download “Crowdcompass Attendee Hub” for free in the app store and then choose “Tampa Bay Airfest 2018.”

Airfest is a two-time “Best Military Air Show” winner.
