The United States Navy Blue Angels will be back to headline the 15th Annual Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach on May 26-27, 2018, according to organizers.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union, the state’s largest credit union, and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, announced the decision, marking the flier’s 8th appearance as headliners at the show

The International Council of Air Shows Convention and the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds also are slated to perform. Along with the United States Army Golden Knights Parachute Team and the F-22 Raptor.

The Bethpage Air Show, which launched in 2004, broke attendance records in 2016, the last year that the Blue Angels performed, with 453,000 attendees.

“This year we will be celebrating our 15th anniversary,” George Gorman, deputy regional director for the  New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, said in a written statement. “We look forward to another spectacular show this May.”

The show, at Jones Beach, also was designated as one of four events included in the inaugural 2018 “Grunt Style Air Show Majors Tour.”

Linda Armyn, senior vice president in charge of corporate affairs for the credit union, said she’s glad the show is part of the tour, “which unites the most significant air shows in the country.”

More than 347,000 attended the show this year, when the United States Air Force Thunderbirds were the headliners.
