MILLVILLE — The sonic boom you’ll likely hear in the Holly City next summer won’t be because of some stealth aircraft — it’ll be the Blue Angels.

The U.S. Navy’s premier pilots will perform at the Millville Army Airfield Museum’s 2017 Wheels & Wings Airshow. The event scheduled for May 27 and May 28 of 2017 will mark the third Memorial Day Weekend the jet demonstration team piloting F/A-18 Hornets has made it to the skies above Cumberland County.

A museum could not immediately be reached for comment Saturday. According to the Blue Angels’ 2017 schedule, the Millville stop will be its only New Jersey appearance.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Flight Demonstration Team headlined last summer’s air show, which benefits the Millville Army Airfield Museum. The 2015 event also featured the
U.S. Army Golden Knights — the official 18-person parachute team of the U.S. Army.

The Blue Angels were booked for the airport’s 2011 show, but cancelled the performance one day before the weekend event. The Millville Army Airfield Museum is located 1 Leddon St., in Millville.
