Blue Angels captivate crowds at MCAS Miramar Air Show

SAN DIEGO – Capt. Tom Frosch is quite literally the number one guy for a fleet that’s the face of naval aviation.
“I actually got inspired when I was about six-years-old, and I saw the Blue Angels at an air show,” Frosch said.
“You
look at the kids and see their smiles, and it just gives me goosebumps
because it reminds me of when I was a kid,” he added.
You would think he would have a huge ego, but he sees it as an honor.

“We don’t look at it as being cool,” he said. “We look at it as we get to represent.”
They represent the men and women keeping this country safe. Frosch knows the sacrifices they make having served 23 years.
“Everything that we do, they’re doing in some way, shape or form,” he explained.
His favorite part of an air show happens after his wheels hit the ground.
“I
think the most profound thing I hear is actually from adults when they
say they’re proud to be Americans after watching our show. Everytime I
hear that I get goosebumps.”
