The sounds of the Blue Angels were back in Traverse City today.
The naval flight demonstration squadron was in town to start prepping for the 2016 National Cherry Festival.
Planning for the biggest, and most popular event of the week is a year round process.
The Blue Angels say a lot of work goes into putting on the air show, and the National Cherry Festival looks forward to their return.
“An air show takes a lot of moving parts,” said Lt. Tyler Davies. “There’s tons of people that come to help put an air show on and it takes this far out as far as the planning purposes to get everybody on board.”
“This is one of the signature events. It’s a great place to fly and so we’re always excited when they come to town,” said Jamie Callahan, National Cherry Festival president.
The National Cherry Festival says they will continue to plan with the Blue Angels throughout the year to put on another spectacular air show.
