Blue Angels Returning To Baltimore In 2016

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Navy’s elite Blue Angels return to the skies over Baltimore next year.
The spectacular airshow will happen during the inaugural Maryland Fleet Week and Air Show in October–a free six day festival celebrating the rich naval traditions of our state.
WJZ’s Mary Bubala has details of the event.
There’s nothing like the thrill of seeing the Blue Angels, which the lucky witnessed in the skies over Baltimore in 2012 and 2014 during the Star Spangled Spectacular.
After a year’s absence, the Angels are back, ready to show Baltimore the most intense, stomach turning, aerial aerobatics.
Thursday morning, the Blue Angels arrived at Martin State Airport to make the exciting announcement and plan for the show.
Lt. Tyler Davies and Captain Corrie Mays will fly in the inaugural Fleet Week and Air Show in Baltimore next year on October 15 and 16.
“All the little details you can think of that can go into executing the airshow next year, we’re going to talk about today, so at least we have an understanding of the way forward,” said Captain Corrie Mays.
“Thank you so much for having us, we’re really excited to be here. It’s going to be an exceptional show. We’re really looking forward to it,” said Lt. Tyler Davies.
So are T.J. Buhite and his daughter, Becky, who came out to watch today’s landing.
“I just love seeing the flying and what they stand for,” said Buhite.
So do thousands of Marylanders.
The Blue Angels will actually perform in Maryland three separate times in 2016. You will also get to see them at Navy’s graduation and at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River Air Expo later in October.
