TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) — The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are in Traverse City Monday preparing for their show in the 2018 National Cherry Festival.
Their number 7 jet flew into the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City Monday afternoon.
The Blue Angels are here for their site visit.
They’ll spend the next day checking out the community, looking at the airfield and all of the facilities they’ll use while they’re here.
They say they’re looking forward to coming back to Traverse City when it’s a little warmer next summer.
“It’s great for us to get out with the rest of our team and just kind of put on a great show for you guys,” said Lt. Andre Webb, Flying Blue Angel No. 7. “Display the teamwork that we’re all about so you guys can see up here along the Great Lakes what the Navy is about.”
The airshows for the Blue Angels will be held during the National Cherry Festival on Saturday June 30th and Sunday July 1st next year.
