Blue Angels Wow Fleet Week

Blue Angels Wow Fleet Week

Fleet Week is here, and the Blue Angels will be doing loops and twirls, ships will be cruising under the Golden Gate Bridge and other attractions will be on display through Monday. The 35th annual San Francisco Fleet Week celebration brings roughly a million visitors to the city, according to organizers.
The Pensacola NAS-based Blue Angels are entertaining crowds in San Francisco this weekend as part of the Navy’s Fleet Week festivities. On Saturday afternoon, several hundred people crowded Alta Plaza Park in Pacific Heights for a clear view of the air show that featured the Navy’s Blue Angels. Their Homecoming air show at NAS Pensacola is set for November 6th and 7th. This year, Fleet Week will also include the first-ever Fleet Fest at Pier 80 in the Dogpatch neighborhood. The San Francisco Fleet Week Association has not released how much taxpayer money or private funds were spent on this year’s event. Six active naval vessels will be docked along the Port of San Francisco at piers 15/17, 30/32 and 80. The Marina Green Festival & Humanitarian Village will be open from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. Friday. The danger of drones flying over and dangerously interfering with the air performance has been taken very seriously by officials after a recent incident in Southern California involved drones delaying the fire-fighting efforts of planes to put out a raging fire, which led to massive property damages that could have been avoided had the drones not interfered. This is what everyone lined up on San Francisco’s waterfront to see, and they heard them before they saw them. Military and city departments are taking the opportunity to work together on disaster capabilities, training exercises, senior leader talks, community relations projects, and Bark at the Park, which features military and civilian K-9 demonstrations in Duboce Park.
