Dozens Capture Blue Angels Soaring Through Fargo

It’s hard to miss the roar of the engines, white trails of smoke and planes sweeping across the skies of Fargo. The Blue Angels are back in town. The planes are practicing for the Fargo AirSho this weekend. But dozens of people couldn’t wait until Saturday to catch the planes in action.
The Day family and some of their friends were waiting, with all their gear, to catch a glimpse of the planes at Cell Phone Park at Hector International Airport. But they weren’t the only ones, people from across town took videos and photos. Some scanning the skies on a building roof to see the impressive formations.
“When they do the scare tactic, when they come up from behind, I like that too, even though it scares me,” says Carolynn Overbye.
“When they do the vertical flight and one splits off, it’s just awesome,” says Ken Jerve.
The flight team came to town, after four years of being away. In 2013, the team was suppose to come to Fargo, but it was cancelled due to the sequestration.
“It’s nice to see them here and back again,” says Merle Beverly Lind.
The Blue Angels are set to practice again Friday afternoon and will be at the AirSho both Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also, several roads in north Fargo will be closed again Friday.
Roads which will be closed are listed below:
· 19th Avenue North between Dakota Drive and 18th Street North
· Dakota Drive from 19th Avenue North to 12th Avenue North
· 15th Avenue North between Dakota Drive and 18th Street North
· 32nd Avenue North west of University Drive North
