The return of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels highlights an event-filled San Francisco Fleet Week, with stunt flying, military displays and tours along the shoreline and in the air above the city.
The Canadian Snowbirds flying team and Patriots Jet Team are also participating in Fleet Week, with the bulk of the air show events from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, through Sunday, Oct. 8. San Francisco residents (and their horrified dogs) will start seeing and hearing the Blue Angels above the city earlier in the week.
The Parade of Ships this year also takes place Friday from 11 a.m. to noon. Free tours include the Essex LHD 2 amphibious assault ship.
Most of the air show events and ship tours are free, with paid seating on Marina Green ranging from $55 to $275.
