DURANGO, Colo. (AP) — People waving flags and standing at attention
lined the streets in Durango, Colorado as the remains of a Blue Angels
pilot who was killed in a crash while practicing for an airshow passed
on the way to a private burial.
The body of 32-year-old Marine Capt. Jeff Kuss arrived in Durango on Friday on the Blue Angels’ C-130 Hercules transport plane.
The ceremony will include a flyover by the Checkerboards, Kuss’ unit before joining the Blue Angels.
Kuss was killed while practicing for an airshow near Nashville, Tennessee, on June 2.
Kuss is survived by his wife and two young children.
Durango is 340 miles southwest of Denver.
