PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) — Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the Blue Angels Homecoming Show this weekend and NAS Pensacola has good news if you plan on attending: both gates will be open.
In addition, since so many people are expected to attend the airshow, event officials are advising people to plan ahead for parking.
The back and west gates will be open at 8:00 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
The airshow begins around 9:00 am. The Blue Angels will fly on Friday, Nov. 10th and Saturday, Nov. 11th during the day shows.
According to a petty officer in the Blue Angels office, the Blue Angels team walks down to the runway on Friday at 1:00 pm and are in the air by 1:30. On Saturday, they walk down at 2:00 pm and are in the air by 2:30.
Admission, parking, and shows are all free.
There will be areas reserved for physically challenged attendees.
Some other things to keep in mind; pets, coolers, and drones are not allowed inside the base if you’re attending the air show.
Channel 3 was also told that security personnel and signs will be on the site directing spectators to parking areas.
