EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island National Guard Open House and Air Show is taking place this weekend in Quonset.
Over the years, the Air Show has raised more than $2 million for Hasbro Children’s Hospital. It’s an annual tradition that not only raises money for a good cause, but also gives attendees a glimpse into what the National Guard is all about.
Eyewitness News Analyst Lt. Gen. Reginald Centracchio (ret.) used to run the show for many years when he served as Adjutant General.
“The Air Show is separate from the Open House,” Centracchio said. “The testament to this Air Show is the fact that we can have the Blue Angels. They get the Blue Angels against all the rest of the states and the nation as many times as we have had over the years, it demonstrates the kind of quality show we have.”
In the above video, Centracchio discusses the upcoming Air Show, as well as the United State’s upcoming summit with North Korea.
