SMYRNA, TN — Work continues on Smyrna’s memorial to Capt. Jeff Kuss, the Blue Angels pilot who died in a crash during a rehearsal flight before a performance in 2016.
“There’s still time to purchase a memorial paver, but if you want your paver to be included at the Opening Ceremony Ribbon Cutting, our contractors need your order by Friday, February 16th. The paver samples shown below are the 4″ x 8″, and the 12″ x 12″. 4 x 8 are $100 each. 12 x 12 are $1000 each. 8″ x 8″ are available for $500 each,” the town said in a press release.
Sponsorships for planters and benches are also being accepted by phone at 615-267-5004.
Kuss, a native of Durango, Colo., joined the Blue Angels in 2014. A Marine pilot, he had done tours in Afghanistan before joining the Blue Angels. The Navy ruled the crash was caused by pilot error.
