Rainy Weather Forecast Doesn’t Stop Blue Angels from Flying

A shaky weather forecast didn’t stop the Blue Angels from performing in their last show of the 2015 season on Saturday.
Thousands showed up at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, packed with lawn chairs and umbrellas, just in case.
Spokesperson Patrick Nichols said they monitored the weather closely Saturday morning and made the decision to condense the show and have the Blue Angels perform at 11:30 instead of later in the afternoon.
“We didn’t know what was going to happen, but our goal was to make sure everyone was safe, the performers and the spectators as well. It’s really important to get the Blue’s up to fly because this is a hometown crowd,” Nichols.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

Ever wonder what the Blue Angels look like in SLOW MOTION? They’re flying right now in the annual Homecoming show in Pensacola.

Nichols said they typically see 100,000 visitors during the weekend homecoming show festivities, and even though they won’t meet that mark, he said he’s pleased with the turnout.
