TRAVERSE CITY, MI – In support of the National Cherry Festival, the
public will have the opportunity to see aircraft from the 2016 airshow
up close at an open ramp event.
The Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City is hosting the free event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 1.
Performers from the airshow and the following aircraft will be on
display: the U.S. Navy Blue Angels F/A-18s and their C-130 ‘Fat Albert’;
a Coast Guard HC-144 Ocean Sentry Patrol Aircraft; the Royal Canadian
Air Force CF-18 Demonstration Team;Copeland, Goulian and Redline
aerobatic aircraft; and Air Station Traverse City’s own MH-65D Dolphin
Visitors will be able to mingle with members of the Blue Angels flight demonstration crew, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy and the Cherry Capital Airport’s wildlife control dog, Piper.
Various other performers and members of military and civil
organizations will be in attendance, including Giving Wings,
Northwestern Michigan College aircraft and drones, North Flight and the
Air National Guard.
The event is open to the public and is handicap accessible.
Government-issued photo ID will be required for admittance. Bags are

in Traverse City. No parking will be allowed on Airport Access Road or
grassy areas on either side of the road.
