Temps Soar at Miramar Air Show: Sunday Near 100

With some finding shade under parked jets, tens of thousands flocked Saturday to the MCAS Miramar Air Show, which this year limited Day 2 to daytime events. No twilight show.

(“This measure will allow us to maximize our security presence and also minimize traffic congestion that usually takes place on Saturday,” organizers said.)

Temperatures in the 90s were a turnabout from Friday’s opening day comfort. But the aerobatics made the trip, and hike out from the hinterland parking lot, worth the effort.

Sunday’s forecast was for worse, however — inching close to 100 degrees.
