One person has died after a US Navy Blue Angels jet crashed in Tennessee.
The crash involving a F/A-18 Hornet happened at around 3pm local time at an airport (9pm UK time) in the town of Smyrna.
Eye-witnesses described seeing a fireball and thick black smoke rising from the runway after a loud explosion.
Navy Commander Jeannie Groeneveld confirmed the jet crashed while practicing for an upcoming show.

The US Navy Blue Angels were set to perform this weekend
The Blue Angels are set to perform at the airport this weekend on June 4 and 5 as part of The Great Tennessee Airshow.
The Blue Angels is the United States Navy’s flight demonstration squadron – similar to the RAF’s Red Arrows.
The crash comes on the same day as a similar incident involving an Air Force Thunderbird jet.
