JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Blue Angels are coming back to Jacksonville.
Two members of the Navy’s elite Flight Demonstration Team were at Naval Air Station Jacksonville Tuesday to meet with representatives to discuss the upcoming air show scheduled for Nov. 4-5, that will be highlighted by demonstrations by the Blue Angels.
“What we’re here to do is a flight survey,” said Lt. Dave Steppe, Blue Angel #8. “We’ll look at the airfield. We’ll look at hangar space, and hotels and gyms in the local area that can accommodate the team.”
The Blue Angel Flight Demonstration Team originated at NAS Jacksonville in 1946. The 67th anniversary air show in November is open to the public. For more information about the upcoming air show, go to www.nasjaxairshow.com.
“The Blue Angels are so excited to come and be a part of Jacksonville, birthplace of the Blue Angels. They’re always great,” Lt. Brandon Hempler, Blue Angel #7 said. “We were here last year at the beach show and Jacksonville is so supportive. We thank you so much for welcoming us.”
The Blue Angels will perform at 33 air shows, with a total of 68 demonstrations, between March and November 2017.
