LINCOLN, Neb. — Multiple sources are confirming the Blue Angels canceled their performance at the Lincoln Air Show due to low visibility Saturday.

A 10/11 reporter on scene said that the Blue Angel pilots were in their planes and being introduced around 3:30, but they will no longer take to the skies. Other performances prior to the Blue Angels were also canceled due to low visibility.

The concerns are caused by wildfires in Minnesota and Canada that have brought smoke into the Lincoln area on Saturday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, a cold front moved in carrying NE winds, dragging the smoke into the state capital.

Dry and extremely windy conditions are fueling the blazes up north, which and more than 602 square miles have been burned in Fort McMurray, Canada.

Conditions are expected to improve by the end of the day Saturday.
