PENSACOLA, Florida — Marine Corps Capt. Rick Rose of Napa was selected July 15 for the 2020 air show season of the Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron.
Rose, a C-130 Hercules pilot currently assigned to the “Sumos” of Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152, was one of six officers selected. He graduated from the California State University, Sacramento, in 2011.
The remaining positions include two F/A-18 demonstration pilots, a maintenance officer, a public affairs officer and another C-130 pilot.
“We had a phenomenal group of applicants this year,” said Capt. Eric Doyle, Blue Angels commanding officer. “The 2020 Blue Angels are lucky to have these talented individuals join them to represent the Navy and Marine Corps in the team’s 74th show season.”
The new team members begin their training for the 2020 season in November.
