SMYRNA, Tenn.–The town of Smyrna has announced this year’s 4th of
July celebration will be dedicated to the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and
Marine Captain Jeff Kuss.
Kuss, who died in a crash as the Blue
Angels were practicing for the Tennessee Air Show, will be honored
during the event and attendees will be able to donate to the Jeff Kuss
Memorial Fund, which will go towards a future memorial.
The first
2000 people to enter the event which will be held at Lee Victory
Recreation Park will receive a memorial pin with the Blue Angels colors.
The Independence Day Celebration begins at 5pm with fireworks starting at 9:15pm.
